From 3:30-4:30pm we will host a worship event at the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission on Saturday July, 14th. You do not need to be a musician to serve at this event. We will be setting up the hall for worship, loving on the people, worshipping together, and then tearing down equipment after. All you have to do is have a heart for the people!
Pull weeds around Mattawan School Buildings
Weedeating all over Mattawan School campuses.
We will use a truck to haul cedar chips (provided by school) to a sitting area behind the high school library. Items needed: Truck, shovels, rakes, gloves. This area may also need some weeding/weed whacking.
New Early and Later El building parking lots have large drainage systems that have been clogged by debris due to heavy rains and are not draining properly. Our teams will remove debris/clean up and transport it to be dumped. We will benefit from having empty barrels/trash cans and a truck to remove and transport debris to dump site.
Trim all evergreen hedges surrounding cafeteria windows/entrances. Rake/Blow and remove debris. Pull weeds from hedge beds.
-Beautifying nursing home grounds - Organizing supply closets
Spread mulch at Calvary Kids Co-Op Preschool around play ground.
Get your serve day t-shirt, some breakfast snacks, and we will have music and inspiration before we go into the city to MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Hand out suckers, bottled water, and AT THE MOVIES invitations! People in costumes!
Dena and Ric Mentor are in their 70s and in need of some safer steps leading up to their porch, and new top rails and rings. Since last fall, the couple has fostered three of their four great-grandchildren with only some emergency funds from the state (they are not licensed foster care providers), relying on social security income and donations from family members and area food kitchens. They now only have one child, 15 months old, and would like to create a place for home to safely play on their porch. Dena recently was in the hospital with pneumonia and broken ribs from a fall, and going to dialysis three times a week! Some light gardening would be appreciated and power washing of their trailer would help spruce things up. If time allows, they also wish to have carpeting removed and vinyl flooring laid down throughout their mobile home, as the carpet is old.
